Values

With God, we are changing the world, one day at a time.
God calls us to seek the welfare of the city for in its welfare we will find our welfare. (Jeremiah 29.7)
We are outwardly focussed, we are alert and flexible.
We are responsive to the needs of the world around us, people and planet.
We promote God’s vision of peace, justice, truth and equality for everyone.

We are passionate about people, leaving no one out.
St Paul teaches us “There is no longer Jew or Greek; there is no longer slave or free; there is no longer male and female, for all of you are one in Christ Jesus.” (Galatians 3 28)
We are an inclusive church, everyone is welcome, we do not discriminate.
We offer genuine care and empathy, we look for the best in one another.
We are curious, we listen deeply, we celebrate everyone as a child of God.

We live life to the full, the laughter and the tears.
Jesus came that we might have life, life in all its fullness. (John 10.10)
We bring the whole of ourselves.
We are a church that lives with the mess and muddle of real life.
We make mistakes, we forgive. We stand with one another through thick and thin.

We are open every day for everyone, open hearts, open minds, open hands.
God says “Listen! I am standing at the door, knocking; if you hear my voice and open the door, I will come in and eat with you, and you with me. (Revelation 3 20)
We are open to new ideas, new possibilities, to where God is leading us.
We are generous in our living, we know how much we have received.
We put our faith into practice, we respond as we are able.

We work in partnership, we are stronger together.
Therefore encourage one another and build one another up, just as you are doing. (1 Thessalonians 5:11)
We listen deeply, we share resources, we are reliable.
We work with people who share our values.
We overcome differences and build bridges for the sake of the common good.

We are accountable, honest, and transparent, the truth will set us free.
And you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.” (John 8:32)
We are prepared to ask hard questions and to accept criticism.
We can keep confidences, we don't gossip.
We are diligent in safeguarding, we protect the vulnerable.
